A new era of collaboration in maritime tourism has begun with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ayia Napa Marina and Paralimni Marina. This landmark agreement aims to enhance joint development and outward promotion of the region’s nautical potential, solidifying the Free District of Famagusta as a key destination in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The MoU was signed on June 26, 2025 during a formal ceremony held at Ayia Napa Marina, in the presence of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the President of the Famagusta District Local Government Organisation (EOAA), the Mayors of Paralimni-Deryneia and Ayia Napa, the President of the Cyprus Marinas Association, and other local officials and stakeholders.

The agreement lays the foundation for a strategic partnership between two of the most innovative and prominent marina developments in the region. It outlines joint promotional activities, shared customer services and privileges for boat owners across both marinas, and coordinated actions to raise the profile of Cyprus’s maritime infrastructure.

The ceremony opened with a welcome address by Costas Fytiris, CMO of Ayia Napa Marina, followed by remarks from Anthoulis Kountouris, CEO of Paralimni Marina; Christos Zannettos, Mayor of Ayia Napa; Giorgos Nikolettos, Mayor of Paralimni–Deryneia. A message of special significance was shared by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis, who emphasised the importance of regional synergies and the urgent need to strengthen maritime tourism as a pillar of sustainable development.

As part of the event, a short video presentation showcased the vision and progress behind both marinas, highlighting the investments and milestones that have shaped them into benchmarks for modern nautical infrastructure in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The MoU was signed in a spirit of trust and mutual understanding by CMO Fytiris and CEO Kountouris. Their collaboration was symbolically summed up in a single phrase: “Strength through Unity”, reinforcing the shared mission to place Famagusta on the global map of maritime tourism. The event concluded with a light reception at Le Deli Robuchon, at Ayia Napa Marina.
