A 39-year-old woman was remanded for eight days on Wednesday by Larnaca district court after 22kg of cannabis was found in her luggage at Larnaca airport.

The customs department found the drugs in a total of 40 packages, containing approximately 22kg cannabis in her bag, and seized it.

She had arrived at around 11.50pm on Tuesday.

She was taken to Larnaca district court on Wednesday, which ordered the remand.
