Two minors were hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Spyros Kyprianou avenue and Spyros Sotirakis avenue in Paphos on Sunday.

The crash involved a car driven by a 40-year-old man, carrying his 41-year-old wife and two children, and a second vehicle with two 19-year-olds on board.

All five passengers were transported by ambulance to Paphos general hospital.

The woman and the two 19-year-olds were later discharged. The couple’s 17-year-old daughter sustained a neck injury and was transferred to Nicosia general hospital.

Their 9-year-old son, who suffered a pelvic injury, was admitted to Archbishop Makarios III hospital.

Both are in stable condition.

The 40-year-old driver underwent a breathalyser test, recording a reading of 23 mg, slightly above the legal limit of 22 mg.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
