A 22-year-old was arrested on Tuesday in Larnaca to facilitate investigations into a drugs case, the police announced on Wednesday.
Members of the drug squad searched a residence in Larnaca district on Tuesday in the framework of a police crackdown on the smuggling and trafficking of drugs.
The 22-year-old was in the residence – belonging to a relative – at the time and appears to be the administrator.
The police confiscated 20 pouches containing a total of 1kg and 618g of cannabis, a sachet containing 27g of cocaine, precision scales, a firearm magazine with 30 blank cartridges and two metal cylindrical items believed to be detonators.
The man was arrested and placed in custody.
His own residence was then searched following his written consent, where police found €10,020 in cash.
The suspect will be taken before the Larnaca district court on Wednesday for a remand order.
Police investigations are ongoing.
