An apartment in Livadia, Larnaca, was extensively damaged in a fire that broke out in the early hours of Thursday.

Two fire engines were sent to extinguish the fire, which burned two bedrooms on the first-floor flat of a two-storey building.

The paintwork of the apartment was damaged by the smoke.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
