A fire broke out in a car in Nicosia due to an overheating portable electronic device charger, commonly known as a power bank, fire brigade spokesman Andreas Kettis said on Monday.
He said the incident occurred at 11.38am on Sunday, with the power bank having been placed on the vehicle’s passenger seat.
The fire was put out by firefighters using a water hose, while Kettis said “part of the seat was destroyed” by the fire.
