Paphos police are investigating an attempted murder after a man was stabbed outside a kiosk in Konia on Wednesday evening.

The incident happened at about 6.15pm. Officers said the victim, a 26-year-old man from Paphos, suffered serious knife wounds. He was taken to Paphos general hospital, where doctors say he is in critical condition.

According to the initial police findings, the man was attacked by a 58-year-old suspect during an incident outside the kiosk. Investigators believe the suspect used a knife to injure him.

Police said an arrest warrant is expected to be issued for the alleged attacker. Officers have sealed off the area and are collecting evidence from the scene.

The investigation is continuing, with police examining witness statements and CCTV footage to confirm the sequence of events.
