Cyprus is set for clear and warm conditions on Friday, with only brief periods of high cloud.

Forecasters say the main feature on Friday morning is the stable weather pattern, with light to moderate winds from the northeast to southeast. Speeds are expected to reach 3 to 4 Beaufort and may rise to 5 Beaufort in exposed areas. The sea will be slightly rough, becoming locally rough at times.

Temperatures will climb to about 28C across inland areas and the coast. The higher mountains will remain cooler at around 21C.

Clear skies are expected to continue on Friday evening. Winds will shift to a north to northeast flow at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will stay slightly rough in the north and east, while the remaining coastal areas will become calm to slightly rough. Night-time temperatures will fall to 14C inland and in the mountains, and 17C along the coast.

The weekend is expected to remain mostly clear. High cloud will pass over the island at intervals on both Saturday and Sunday. A slight rise in temperature is forecast for Saturday, with Sunday showing no significant change. Readings will stay well above the seasonal average.

On Monday, thicker cloud is expected to develop. This may bring isolated showers and thunderstorms in some areas. Temperatures will drop but will still remain above the average for this time of year.
