The minimum wage is being discussed on Monday, with the aim of a decree being issued in December for an increase to apply as of 2026.

The committee for the readjustment of the minimum wage is convening at the labour ministry, with the participation of representatives from the labour ministry, the trade unions and the employers’ associations.

Last week, Labour Minister Yiannis Panayiotou said the minimum wage was set to be adjusted and “substantially improved” twice.

The first adjustment will be agreed in December and take effect in 2026. The second will be decided in December 2027 and implemented at the start of 2028.
