The primary school in the village of Akrotiri, as well as the village’s nursery school and environmental education centre, will remain closed on Monday next week, the education ministry said on Friday.

All three locations have been closed since the nearby British Akrotiri air force base was hit by an Iranian-made drone shortly after midnight last Monday, with the ministry saying that their continued closure is a “precautionary measure”.

It added that “instructions have already been given for the activation of distance learning” at the primary school and the nursery school.
