A 25-year-old Lebanese man against whom a German arrest warrant is outstanding was arrested on terrorism charges at Larnaca airport on Saturday.

He had arrived in Cyprus on a flight from Beirut, en route to another European country.

He was arrested on a provisional arrest warrant, with the intention of his subsequent extradition to Germany.

The court later remanded him in custody until March 13, by which time he is due to be extradited to Germany.

No further details have been made public regarding the allegations the suspect is facing.
