Increased policing of critical infrastructure in Cyprus continues although there is currently no information regarding possible threats against the island, police spokesperson Vyron Vyronos said on Saturday.
“All the required security protocols have been activated and the situation is being monitored in coordination with all the competent services of the Republic,” he said.
Vyronos emphasised that regardless of the current absence of threats, preventive security measures were in place considering the developments in the Middle East, with high-risk areas being closely monitored by authorities.
“It should be reiterated that at this stage there is no information about any threat against the Republic of Cyprus,” he said.
Vyronos reaffirmed the police’s preparedness to undertake preventive measures to ensure public safety and the protection of residents.
