A fire broke out in a bus parked near a primary school in the Limassol area in the early hours of Wednesday.

The bus driver was able to get out safely from the burning vehicle without injury, while the engine was badly damaged.

According to the fire department, the bus driver was inside the vehicle when he noticed the flames and placed a call at 5.52am.

The fire department extinguished the flames, bringing the fire under control shortly after.

Investigations into the causes of the fire will be examined during the day on Wednesday.
