Police in Limassol seized a pistol and explosives yesterday after discovering them in an open area in the district said on Wednesday.

Officers, acting on a tip, found the pistol, without a magazine, and five pieces of explosive material weighing a total of 670 grams.

A pyrotechnician and explosives investigators from Limassol police examined the scene and collected items for specialist testing.

The Limassol investment authority is investigating.
