Awareness and information activities on fire prevention and safety were discussed during a meeting on Friday between the Paphos municipality and members of the fire brigade in Paphos.

The meeting focused on coordinating a public event to be held as part of fire safety week 2026, scheduled for April 20 to 26.

Acting Paphos mayor Angelos Onisiforou said that public awareness and prevention are key elements in protecting both human life and property, while also strengthening society’s readiness to respond to fire risks.

According to a statement from the municipality, participants discussed organisational matters related to the event, as well as initiatives aimed at informing and raising public awareness about fire prevention and safety.
