The met office said the warning will be in effect from 7am on Saturday until 7am on Sunday as a new wave of unsettled weather moves across the island.
Prolonged rainfall, scattered thunderstorms and strong northeasterly winds are forecast during the 24-hour period
According to the met office, total rainfall is very likely to exceed 55 millimetres in some areas, increasing the risk of local flooding.
