Police on Saturday night arrested a 32-year-old man in Nicosia in connection with a case involving a stolen vehicle and unlawful possession of property.
According to a police statement, officers located a vehicle parked in the city that had been reported stolen on March 17, 2026.
The vehicle was placed under surveillance, during which the suspect was observed approaching it. Police said an arrest warrant had already been issued against the 32-year-old in relation to the theft of the specific vehicle.
Officers proceeded to arrest the man and, during a search, found in his possession wallets, credit cards from various banking institutions, European identity cards and keys for other vehicles, among other items.
The suspect was re-arrested for the flagrant offence of unlawful possession of property and was expected to appear before the district court in Nicosia on Sunday for the issuance of a remand order.
