Alpha Bank Cyprus announced its support as a strategic partner for the national awareness campaign “Proper Use of Medicines”, an initiative aimed at strengthening public understanding and responsible behaviour on a key public health issue.

The campaign is organised by the Doctors Information and Education Group, under the presidency of Professor Loizos G. Loizou, with the objective of enhancing awareness and promoting a responsible attitude among citizens towards medicine use.

The initiative was officially presented during a press conference at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the importance of proper medicine use for health protection, patient safety and prevention was highlighted.

During the conference, an integrated programme of actions was presented, including the production of short informational videos conveying key messages, as well as lectures, awareness events and public interventions in cooperation with scientific and social bodies.

At the same time, the long term nature of the campaign was emphasised, aiming to gradually shape a more stable culture of responsible medicine use across society.

As part of its support, Alpha Bank Cyprus will contribute to the wider dissemination of the campaign’s key messages, making use of its own communication channels, including social media platforms.

Through this approach, the bank seeks to actively support efforts that promote knowledge, prevention and individual responsibility on issues that directly affect citizens’ daily lives and quality of life.

“Alpha Bank Cyprus supports initiatives with substantial value for society, which strengthen prevention, knowledge and the responsible attitude of citizens towards critical public health issues,” said chief executive officer Miltos Michaelas.

“The proper use of medicines is an issue that concerns everyone, as it is directly linked to safety, quality of life and the overall well being of society,” he added.

“Through our participation in this effort, we contribute to informing and raising public awareness, with the aim of shaping a more conscious and responsible attitude around such an important issue,” Michaelas concluded.

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) is also participating as a strategic partner in the initiative, contributing to the development of a structured and long term awareness effort on the proper use of medicines.
