As the world marks the International Day of Zero Waste on March 30, 2026, Exinity and Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, highlight their shared and ongoing efforts to minimise waste in all its forms, from what we consume to what we leave behind, through meaningful, locally driven initiatives that promote environmental responsibility and community involvement, while addressing both consumption patterns and eco-friendly impact.
Moving beyond a limited focus on food waste, the two organisations have adopted a broader, more integrated approach aligned with their common environmental pillars. Their initiatives address key challenges, including overconsumption, plastic pollution, recycling and responsible resource use. This direction is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water), underscoring their commitment to creating meaningful, lasting impact.

A notable example of this approach took place in late 2025, with a beach clean-up at Akrotiri, one of Cyprus’s most ecologically significant coastal areas and a vital habitat for endangered sea turtles. Organised in collaboration with environmental partner ECOmbare, the initiative brought together 45 volunteers, including 21 children, who collected a total of 180kg of litter from the shoreline. The waste collected was carefully sorted into PMD and other categories, and subsequently directed to designated local recycling organisations, ensuring responsible waste management beyond the clean-up itself.
This action demonstrated how environmental awareness can translate into measurable results. By tackling coastal and plastic pollution, the initiative helped protect marine life while highlighting the importance of preventing waste at its source. Its family-oriented format further encouraged learning, participation and a collective sense of environmental responsibility.

Through initiatives like this, Exinity and Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation continue to promote a broader understanding of Zero Waste, which extends beyond a single issue to encompass everyday habits, material use, and long-term environmental effect. By engaging employees, partners and local communities, they foster collective action to safeguard natural resources and encourage a more responsible lifestyle.
“Reducing waste is not limited to one area, or to one action only. It is about rethinking how we live, consume and care for our environment. Through collective action, we can protect our ecosystems and build a more resilient future for Cyprus,” stated Andrey Dashin, commenting on the initiative.
Through their joint efforts, Exinity and Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation continue to strengthen their contribution to environmental protection in Cyprus, supporting the preservation of natural ecosystems while advancing more conscious, responsible practices across society.
