A 24-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Paphos permanent criminal court on Monday following his conviction for import and possession of more than 16kg of cannabis.
The sentence was handed down after the court examined evidence presented by the prosecuting authority and found the defendant guilty of all charges levied.
The court imposed concurrent prison sentences amounting to 10 years in total.
The case centres on a drug seizure in June of last year, at Paphos airport, where the individual was stopped for inspection upon arrival.
