A 26-year-old man was sentenced to seven years in prison on Wednesday for causing grievous bodily harm when he shot a 39-year-old in the leg, in Limassol, on December 30, 2024.
The man had been found guilty of illegal possession of drugs and causing grievous bodily harm.
The Limassol criminal court also handed a 22-year-old woman a suspended two-year prison sentence for the same case.
The court heard that the man had shot the victim in the leg.
During investigations, the police found 2.44kg of cannabis, 940g of cannabis resin and 105g of cocaine.
The two people had been arrested in January 2025 after a manhunt following the shooting in Ayia Fyla.
According to the police, the incident took place during a visit of three people to the suspect’s house, which had been arranged to resolve differences.
The suspect allegedly opened the door, holding a gun and shot at the three, injuring a 39-year-old in the leg.
