A 21-year-old Larnaca man was remanded in custody on Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder for allegedly using his car to hit another man outside a nightclub.

Police said the incident happened at around 3am on Monday, involving the suspect and his partner’s former boyfriend.

The men had been in the nightclub when an argument broke out, leading security to escort the suspect out.

As the victim, 18, left with friends, he found the suspect slashing his car tyres.

When the teen approached, the suspect reportedly accelerated and drove into him.

Friends took the injured man to Larnaca general hospital, where he received treatment for head and knee injuries before being discharged.

Authorities arrested the suspect and presented him at Larnaca district court on Tuesday, where a six-day remand order was issued.
