With the support of the wider community, the Pancyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council (PVCC) has completed its 12th “Adopt a Family for Easter” campaign, aimed at assisting vulnerable households across Cyprus.
In a statement, the council expressed its gratitude to all those who contributed to the initiative, including citizens, organised groups, companies, educational institutions, local authorities and partner organisations.
The council said the message of love and hope associated with Easter reached families facing hardship through the distribution of care packages.
It also extended particular thanks to volunteers, praising their “tireless spirit, smiles and selfless contribution” throughout every stage of the campaign.
The PVCC noted that a key role in the campaign’s success was played by district volunteerism coordinative councils, which operate volunteer corps in each district.
These ensured that donations were distributed to families in need, including those supported by member organisations and NGOs affiliated with the council.
The organisation stressed that social needs continue beyond the campaign period and issued an open invitation to those interested in joining its volunteer network.
Describing it as a dynamic network comprising companies, public and independent bodies, local authorities, volunteers and professionals, the council said the initiative aims to coordinate resources and expand actions for the benefit of society.
