Police on Thursday night arrested a 30-year-old and a 51-year-old man were arrested as part of investigations into cases of burglary and theft in Protaras on Thursday.
“The two suspects were identified and arrested yesterday afternoon at Paphos airport, upon their departure from Cyprus,” the police said.
According to the police, the arrests came after a 37-year-old man reported that his house in Protaras had been broken into and that a sum of money and two pairs of AirPods worth 900 euros had been stolen.
“From a signal emitted by the stolen AirPods, in a specific area in Ayia Napa, the identification and location of the two suspects was achieved,” the police said.
The two men are suspected of being involved in four burglary and theft cases committed in Protaras between 14 and 16 April.
“It was determined that the 51-year-old is involved in ten more cases of nighttime burglaries and thefts, which were committed in the years 2023 and 2025 in Paralimni,” the police said.
The two suspects are expected to be remanded before the Famagusta district court on Friday.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
