A total of seven teenagers were involved in a road traffic collision in the Nicosia suburb of Pallouriotissa in the early hours of Saturday morning, police said.

The police said that a 16-year-old boy was driving the vehicle through the suburb, when he lost control of it, with the car overturning and coming to a halt after colliding with a metal fence.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found that the 16-year-old, as well as two boys, aged 17 and 15 years old, and two girls, who were also aged 17 and 15 years old, all required hospital treatment.

As such, they were all taken to the Nicosia general hospital, and while four of those admitted were then subsequently discharged, the 15-year-old boy remains under observation at the Makarios children’s hospital.

The police believe that the vehicle belongs to the company the 16-year-old’s father owns, and are as such investigating the circumstances under which he took possession of it.
