A 30-year-old man was arrested on Saturday night after crashing his car into the wall of a house in Larnaca, police said.

The incident occurred shortly after 10pm, when the driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with the wall.

No injuries were reported.

Members of the Larnaca traffic police who arrived at the scene carried out a preliminary breathalyser test, which showed a reading of 124μg%, well above the legal limit of 22μg%.

The driver was asked to undergo a confirmatory blood alcohol concentration test but refused, resulting in his arrest.

Further police checks revealed that the 30-year-old was not in possession of a valid driving licence.

A case is expected to be filed against him at the Larnaca district court.
