On Thursday, April 16 my wife and I were disturbed by raised voices and heated conversation next door. Peaking from behind curtains, we noticed an EAC van with what appeared to be agents in confrontation with our neighbour’s gardener.

The agents then came round to our property and aggressively banged on the front door. They engaged my wife in conversation about installing smart meters. They insisted that we were obliged to give them access in order to install the meters or they would register our disapproval and report it to the police. I Intervened in order to lower the overheated temperature. 

They showed no ID’s, no letters of appointment and gave us no options. As if we needed reminding, they advised that we did not own the existing meter.

I wonder if this is the way government offices will just insist on doing things in the future. Charming!
