During a routine visit to my GP for my repeat prescription inhaler, I was informed that Gesy had changed the system procedure and that the responsibility to prescribe my inhaler now fell to a pulmonary specialist.

Upon my visit and after various tests, he thought a chest X-ray would be prudent. This revealed a shadow which needed further investigation, so he prescribed a CT scan which clearly showed a small nodule in my right lung.

He consequently referred me for a biopsy which confirmed lung cancer and subsequent related tests prior to the successful operation to remove the upper lobe of my right lung. I am now recovering well and looking forward to many more active and enjoyable years.

If it had not been for Gesy changing this system my cancer would have gone undetected as I experienced no other health symptoms. I felt absolutely fine, still being able to exercise, walk and living a normal everyday life and initially thought this extra administrative step was an unnecessary irritation. On the contrary, the early find by the specialist saved my life!

I’m feeling blessed and very grateful to our wonderful Gesy system, to my pulmonologist Dr Vasileios Seferlis and my surgeon Dr Omeros Artemiou!
