A fire that broke out in a poultry farm in the area between Kokkinotrimithia and Mammari on Sunday has been brought under full control.

According to the fire service, the fire broke out in a metal building used as a workshop and spread to the main workshop area, causing extensive damage at around 3pm on Sunday afternoon and was brought under control by 4:20pm.

Four cylinders of inert gas (carbon dioxide) were involved in the fire, which were later cooled by the fire services.

The fire also affected two motor vehicles parked in the area, as well as workshop equipment.

No animals were injured in the incident.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation.
