A 37-year-old woman is in a serious condition in intensive care after being struck by a vehicle in Paphos, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at around 1.20pm on Monday on Sotiraki Markidi Street, when a car driven by a 77-year-old man hit the pedestrian under circumstances under investigation.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Paphos general hospital, where doctors said she sustained “a skull fracture and a shoulder fracture”.

She remains hospitalised in the intensive care unit, with her condition described as serious.

Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
