Rainfall in April reached 183 per cent above the average for this time of year by Wednesday morning, the met service said.

The amount of rainfall measured at all stations by the met department exceeded normal averages for the month, except at the Athalassa station in Nicosia, where it stood at 94 per cent.

The highest rainfall was recorded in Athienou, where rainfall has reached 316 per cent above normal since April 1.

This was followed by Frenaros at 262 per cent and Xylotymbou at 255 per cent.

Prodromos received the highest precipitation levels, with 135.4 millimetres recorded.

In addition, the rainfall recorded from October 1, 2025 until Wednesday reached 112 per cent above normal for the same period, ranging from 135 per cent in Polis to the highest amount, 1,019.4 millimetres in Stavros tis Psokas.
