A 50-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a motorcycle on Limassol avenue in Nicosia on Wednesday evening.

Police said the collision occurred at around 7.30pm when a motorcycle ridden by a 22-year-old man hit the woman as she attempted to cross the road.

She was taken to Nicosia general hospital, where doctors diagnosed a subdural haematoma.

Her condition is described as serious, but she is out of danger. Nicosia traffic police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
