Tuesday is expected to be the most likely day for widespread and intense weather in Cyprus, meteorological officer Tasos Koulentis told the Cyprus News Agency on Monday.
Rain or thunderstorms are possible on Monday night, mainly along coastal areas, while Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to bring unsettled conditions.
Koulentis said clouds would gradually develop after midday, bringing rain and thunderstorms in some areas.
He added that the authorities were waiting for further data before deciding whether to issue a weather warning for Tuesday.
Conditions are expected to improve on Thursday and Friday, with mainly clear skies and some increased cloud cover.
Temperatures will gradually rise until Friday but are expected to remain slightly below the seasonal average.
Meanwhile, reservoir levels have reached 35.8 per cent, significantly higher than the 12.3 per cent recorded at the same time last year.
By October 2, reservoirs held 103.975 million cubic metres of water, compared to 35.688 million cubic metres last year.
