Limassol police are looking for a masked man who grabbed money from a cash register at a bakery in Kato Polemidia early on Friday and is suspected of attempting to rob another bakery at knifepoint a little earlier.

Authorities received information that a man, wearing a face mask, attempted to rob a bakery at Nikou and Despinas Pattichi avenue at around 2.30am.

Holding a knife, he threatened the female employee, demanding that she open the cash register, but when she refused, he left on foot.

Ten minutes later, another bakery reported that a man who had picked up a bottle of water and was waiting to pay for it grabbed some money from the till and ran off.

Police suspect the two incidents involve the same culprit.
