Limassol police arrested two men after a chase on Tuesday on suspicion of possession of counterfeit euro notes and drugs.
Shortly after 12pm, officers signaled the driver to stop, but he accelerated and tried to escape. The car was eventually intercepted a few minutes later.
The driver of the vehicle was a 35-year-old resident of Larnaca, who was accompanied by a 24-year-old resident of Limassol, police said.
In their possession, officers found 80 €100 notes, which appeared to be counterfeit.
During the chase, the 24-year-old was seen throwing an object out of the car.
It was located later and turned out to be a piece of paper with 3.5 grammes of cannabis wrapped inside and a plastic bag containing a quantity of methamphetamine, weighing 0.4 grammes.
The case is being investigated by Limassol CID and Limassol drug squad.
