Almost 2,800 people have received the third dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine, including state health professionals, the health ministry announced on Saturday.
According to a written statement, as of Friday, 2,793 people have been vaccinated with the third dose of the vaccine, including 1,752 people living in nursing homes, 510 health professionals in state hospitals and 531 people belonging to the vulnerable groups who have priority for vaccination.
The vulnerable groups include people with transplants, or immunodeficiency and HIV/AIDS, oncology patients and people receiving biological agents.
Vaccinations have also started in public hospitals while additional vaccinations for the health professionals are expected to start next week at the various vaccination centres, the ministry said.
In the coming days, the ministry is expected to announce more details about the vaccination of people aged 65 and over with the third dose.
The option to utilise the walk-in vaccination centres for the administration of the third dose is being processed, the announcement added.
