Saying an estimated 30,000 people in Cyprus suffer at least one long Covid symptom, the federation of patients associations announced the establishment of a group to support them,
In an announcement, the federation said the new group would also aim to raise public awareness about the condition and campaign for medical support and research.
The Long Covid Cyprus group backs the initiatives of long Covid patients and the European network Long Covid Europe.
It urged everyone who has suffered from Covid to answer the questionnaire on https://www.research.net/r/imrunic21Aw041s042 which is the first step towards setting up ‘records’ on long Covid in Cyprus, it added.
The group will seek cooperation with the state and social, medical and scientific partners and organisations so as to improve the quality of life and health of those suffering from long Covid.
Long Covid differs from person to person, with the number of people affected currently estimated at 30,000 and set to rise as the pandemic continues, it added.
