An inflatable boat with nine irregular migrants was spotted in the sea off Kato Pyrgos Tillirias in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

According to police, authorities spotted an unknown target around 1am, which about four hours later was identified as an inflatable boat.

The boat, which was carrying nine irregular migrants, was escorted near the port of Kato Pyrgos by port and marine police.

Examinations continue by the local police station to establish the identity of the nine persons.
