A 29-year-old man, from Famagusta district, was arrested at noon on Monday to facilitate police investigations in connection with an ongoing case of hooliganism, damage to property, and causing disturbance in a public place.

A police statement said that the disturbance occurred in the early hours of Sunday, July 17, in Ayia Napa’s central square, where a number of people were allegedly throwing stones and other objects at adjacent buildings and passing vehicles, causing damage, Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reported.

Investigations so far have revealed evidence against the 29-year-old and a court warrant has been issued.
