The national guard confirmed on Thursday it was investigating a non-commissioned officer, after it emerged he took part in sexual content posted on OnlyFans.
A source at the defence ministry told the Cyprus Mail they are looking into the matter but declined to comment further.
Daily Politis reported that the investigation will seek to uncover whether disciplinary or even criminal offences may have been committed, although it is not immediately clear which law may have been broken.
The tongue-in-cheek report stated that the national guard became aware of the officer’s ‘second job’ after his partner advertised their services on the subscription-based platform.
His partner reportedly said her ‘new job’ earned her more money within just three days than she had previously earned in a month.
It is understood that after her comments the couple’s content gained wider traction which put it on the national guard’s radar.
The national guard has previously wrestled with its personnel’s social media activity, perhaps most notably back in January when a probe was launched after a non-commissioned officer was seen on TikTok ranting against homosexuals.
