More than €2,000 were raised for the Cyprus Autism Association and vulnerable communities this week, during charity lunches on the British bases.

More than 200 people attended the charity meals, including representatives of the Republic of Cyprus.

“We are honoured to see so many people attending and supporting our charity event. We underline our personal commitment to helping others by providing practical support to charity associations that do so much in return to help those in need,” Akrotiri area officer, Nicos Mylonas said.

The money raised from the charity will support the “vulnerable members of our society”.

Giorgos Ioulianos, Xylophagou community leader, thanked the bases for organising the events,
“Events like these highlight the importance of the close relationship between all of those involved,” Kourion mayor Pantelis Georgiou, added.
