Fines issued based on the traffic camera system will be payable until April 30, the traffic police department announced on Monday.

The deadline for paying outstanding fines, which began on January 8, was originally set for March 31 but has now been extended by a month. The fines apply to traffic violations captured by the traffic camera system between January 1, 2022, and September 30, 2024.

“Due to the positive reaction of the public, the high demand on the payment platform and the upcoming festivities, we have decided to extend the deadline for the payment of the fines by one month,” traffic police sergeant Tassos Ashikkis told the Cyprus Mail.

Police urge vehicle owners to check whether a fine has been registered for their vehicle via this website.

The website will then provide information on whether or how many fines are pending, so outstanding payments can be settled by the end of April. Payments can be submitted via (www.police.gov.cy).

For details about the violation or any payment issues, drivers can call 80008009, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
