The Larnaca District Court on Thursday issued a four-day remand order for three teenagers aged 15, 16, and 17, all residents of Larnaca, in connection with violent incidents that took place on Easter Saturday night in the Livadia area.

They are being held as police continue inquiries into offences including conspiracy to commit a felony, rioting, assaulting a law enforcement officer, possession of weapons, and unlawful possession of explosives.

Police say the arrests were made based on evidence and witness testimony gathered during the investigation. According to Larnaca Police spokesperson Christodoulos Konsolos, the incidents occurred around 12.30am on April 20, when officers responded to reports of young individuals throwing firecrackers, flares, and other objects at passing vehicles in Livadia.

Upon arrival, the officers came under attack from a group of youths who hurled fireworks, stones, and other projectiles at them.

Police responded with tear gas to disperse the crowd, restoring order as the youths fled the scene.

A fourth teenager, aged 17, is still wanted in connection with the case.
