The government will continue to support the electric vehicles market as a step towards green transition and climate change management, Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades, said and a new scheme towards this end is soon to be rolled out.
His statements came following a meeting with Cyprus employers and industrialists federation (Oev) and the association of motor and electric vehicles importers, on Monday.
According to a ministry press release on Tuesday evening, Vafeades said new schemes to expand the use of electric vehicles will be launched soon. The minister added that these schemes may also apply to other types of vehicles.
Vafeadis declined to give details but said the latest scheme had a very strict deadline and had been announced as part of the recovery and resilience plan. He also said he had requested input from importers about the market.
