Police arrested four people overnight for a range of offences, including carrying a knife and illegal stay in the Republic.

During the night, officers stopped 524 vehicles and checked 675 individuals, while also carrying out 27 inspections of premises in an effort to tackle delinquency.

Traffic enforcement checks led to 309 reports for various violations, including 134 for speeding and 12 for driving under the influence of alcohol. A total of 107 alcohol tests were conducted.

Police also impounded 32 vehicles as part of the operations.

Police said coordinated policing actions will continue on a daily basis.
