The deputy ministry of research announced on Wednesday that actions to resolve issues highlighted in the audit office’s 2023 report have been initiated or implemented, including an upgrade of its internal systems.

In a statement issued following the publication of the report, the deputy ministry said that certain gaps mostly related to procedural and operational issues were identified.

“As a ministry, we are moving forward with the evaluation of the findings with specific recommendations,” the statement reads. “The deputy ministry remains committed to the principles of transparency, good administration and accountability.”

It added that these principles are a prerequisite for a modern and efficient state, and that the recommendations are valuable to moving forward in this direction.

“We are working strategically to incorporate the recommendations into the procedural and operational standards of the deputy ministry,” the statement continued.

The deputy ministry assured it would continue to upgrade its internal systems and strengthen its governance structures in order to fully meet the expectations of the state and the people.
