Cyprus’ Customs Department on Monday announced a 5.6 per cent increase in total revenues for 2025 compared with 2024.
In absolute terms, this increase translates into more than €75 million in additional inflows to state coffers compared with the previous year.
The department reported that import duties revenue rose by 11.5 per cent, corresponding to an increase of €6.8 million.
At the same time, total excise duty revenues recorded an increase of 7.1 per cent, amounting to an additional €38.2 million.
Revenue from other sources also increased by 9.3 per cent, contributing an extra €0.5 million.
Meanwhile, VAT on imports rose by 4 per cent, generating an additional €30 million in revenue.
“These exceptional fiscal results contributed to the government’s ability to announce the recent support measures for the economy and citizens following the crisis of the war in the Middle East as well as the impact of foot-and-mouth disease on livestock farming,” the Customs Department said.
